Sign inWhat is a PWA — and why no App Store?
ChurchCurator is what's called a Progressive Web App (PWA). The name sounds technical, but the idea is simple: the app IS the website.
You don't need to download anything from the App Store or Google Play. There are no updates to install. You don't need an Apple ID or a Google account. You just open ChurchCurator in your browser — and with a single tap you get an icon on your home screen that opens the app directly, without any browser bar. Just as fast as a "real" app.
For you that means:
- No App-Store installation — zero friction.
- No Apple ID, no Google account, no download.
- Always up to date — no "update now" clicks.
- No extra storage used on your phone.
Why bother?
Two genuinely good reasons:
- An icon on your home screen. One tap and you're in. No browser, no login, no "where was that page again?".
- Push notifications. When someone puts you on a roster or sends you a message, you get an alert on your lock screen — just like WhatsApp. You don't need to keep the app open for this.
Both are completely optional. If you'd rather use ChurchCurator in the browser as before, nothing changes.
A note on privacy
Push notifications in ChurchCurator run without any detour through third parties. We send your notifications directly from the ChurchCurator server to your browser — encrypted with current standards (VAPID). No Google OneSignal, no Firebase, no ad trackers. Your church's data stays with your church.
